About Josie McClard

Josie McClard, Psychotherapy Intern

Under directed experience and clinical supervision

Coming home to yourself isn’t always easy - especially when life has taught you to disconnect, suppress, or reshape yourself to be more “acceptable” to others. Many of us move through life carrying old survival strategies, beliefs, and wounds that once kept us safe but now leave us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of who we really are. Therapy is a space where we can honor those parts of ourselves, explore what no longer fits, and move toward a life that feels more true to who we are.

I work with teens, young adults, and adults navigating trauma, identity discovery, life transitions, emotional regulation, and self-worth. I am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, especially teens, as they explore their identities and navigate the challenges of coming into themselves. I also provide support for parents seeking guidance in understanding and connecting with their child during these transformative experiences. I specialize in helping those healing from religious trauma, sexual trauma, and patterns of codependency, as well as neurodivergent individuals learning to better understand themselves.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and attuned to both the mind and body. I integrate Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Coherence Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients reconnect with themselves and move toward healing in a way that feels safe and empowering. I believe symptoms are not signs of brokenness but evidence of resilience—strategies the mind and body developed to survive. Together, we can explore these parts of you with curiosity and care, making space for new ways of being that align with the life you want to create.

If you think we might be a good fit, please reach out for a free consultation. I would love to walk alongside you in your journey towards healing. I'm excited to delve into your experiences, to grasp the essence of who you are, and to celebrate every milestone along our journey together. I look forward to connecting with you soon!
